Angina Pectoris
Angina Pectoris is characterised by a squeezing or pressure-like pain in the chest that appears quickly after exertion. Pain may radiate to the left shoulder blade, left arm or jaw and typically lasts for only one to twenty minutes. It is caused by an insufficient supply of oxygen to the heart muscle, usually a result of atherosclerosis (plaque narrowing and blocking the coronary artery). Muscle spasms often occur simply through lack of calcium but exercise, plaque, stress, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and clots can all contribute to narrowing a vital blood vessel and interrupting the flow of blood, with its vital oxygen, to the heart. When mildly constricted angina pains ensue, but if not corrected fatality via a heart attack can follow. For lesser problems the vessels need immediate dilation to allow more blood through. For longterm treatment, any blockages found, whether cholesterol or calcium, must be cleared.
Nutrition
Avoid coffee, tea, alcohol and spicy (cooked) foods.
Also cut down/avoid dairy products and red meat.
Fats to avoid are polyunsaturated margarine (soya margarine would be okay). Virgin olive oil, either low heated (below 90°F) or raw, is also beneficial.
Consume lots of garlic - at least two large cloves of garlic for lunch and two for supper. There is no cheaper or more perfect medicine. Lots of leeks, onions and spring onions will also be important as they have similar sulphur components, beneficial for heart health.
Take evening primrose seed oil or blackcurrant seed oil (GLA).
Extra vitamin C can help reduce serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels, risk factors in heart disease and artherosclerosis, by transforming cholesterol to bile acids, which are easier to excrete by the body.
If you usually feel cold, add cayenne powder or raw chillies to your daily regime. If you are not used to ‘hot foods’ start on a low dose and gradually build up as your body becomes acclimatized. Alternatively take hot & cold showers.
Natural Healing
Bowel, liver and kidney cleanses along withhot and cold showers will all be important and vital!
Gentle exercise is very beneficial, but pace yourself. You may need expert help and guidance to find the correct medium for your own needs. Start with gentle walking and frequent rests and go with someone else in case any problems arise. Increase as your heart and chest pains allow. You could eventually walk alone but always let someone know you're out and roughly how long you intend to be. Eventually cycling and a wider variety of exercise may be possible.

Herbs offering immediate heart help, and long term support are: hawthorn berry, gingko leaf, motherwort herb and cayenne tincture.
